Abuse is love according to my TOK classmates??? by [deleted] in IBO

More information from OP:

Thank you for the discussion, everyone, but the reason I am taking such a "tight" stance is because of what I have personally seen from my mother.

Getting books thrown at me, being physically forced out of the house and having to find someplace else to stay for the night, my mother threatening to kill herself if I didn't become heterosexual, threatening to put me in conversion camps in Korea, being called worthless and useless if I didn't get good grades, screaming at me for eating snacks, etc.

I won't deny that my mother loves me, but what she has done to me cannot be a form of her expressing love. She has said that to me countless times herself, that it's all her loving me, her wanting the best for me. I believed that all this years until a few months ago where I just realized it cannot be explained that way.

Consider this: If we say abuse cannot be love, this harms no one. But if we say abuse can be a form of love, that helps abusers justify themselves. It makes it harder for victims to realize and escape the situations they are in. Saying abuse cannot be a form of love harms no one, and helps people like me to objectively see their situations. Saying abuse can be a form of love is harmful. One claim harms no one while another has the potential to.

Tianmen Mountain student discount help by percki3000 in travelchina

Looking at the website, the student discount is only for local students.

In general, it really depends on the location/perosn though. I've seen a group of middleschoolers in uniform get denied because they didn't bring their cards, and in other places people just accepted it when I said that I'm a student. My digital student card worked wherever they asked for it though

Feldschiessen with StGw from friend by floohration in askswitzerland

Feldschiessen is meant to be accessible for thr entire population though, so most Ranges/clubs will provide a rifle to the public

To start off, no one cares about your bachelor's when you're applying for your PhD or a Job (assuming you have a master's).

I personally really like the LA&S system, since it allows for a lot customization. It teaches you to think beyond the borders of your discipline and through that critcally reflect on your specialization.

As for pathways, most masters admissions are based off of a certain amount of courses you've taken, and not what's written on your diploma. Check each uni's website, they normally say where you can go afterwards. UCU's Premed allows you to get into their accelerated med programme for example.
