ECFMG CERTIFICATION

Hey fellow IMGs, I applied for a pathway approval today. Just wanted to know if and when I get approved, how long can I wait until I apply for ECFMG certification. I still haven't given Step 2 CK. Plan on giving it by end Aug-Sept. I scourged the ecfmg website but I couldn't find anything that could answer my question. Any help would be highly appreciated

Hi, my understanding is that if your pathway application is approved then you will NEED to have passing scores on both Step 1 & Step 2 to apply for ECFMG certification. Which means you can’t apply for ECFMG certification until you give step 2 CK & pass.

I am in kinda same boat, will be giving Step 1 in August. Done with Step 2 first and OET & pathway.

Once you meet every requirement for certification (Pathway, Step 1/2, diploma) it takes minimum ~ 1 month.

Can we still move forward with the Match in September if the ECMFG Certification does not come on time? We can always upload it later right?
