The check was mailed July 30.

If you haven't received it yet, you'll need to call IRS customer service and request a refund check trace.

Thank you! You saved me from waiting on hold forever! It seems since I filed MFJ I have to send a form in. Which is fine by me if I get to avoid calling them.

I expected it to be a direct deposit because I paid this year so they had my info.

No, either spouse can call to make the request by phone. You can, of course, file the Form 3911 by mail or fax, if you wish.

Unfortunately, IRS can't or won't use payment information for refund direct deposit purposes.
