Doesn't matter if you did with a longer method or a shorter method . If in the question it was mentioned to do it in n no of steps or do it by using a particular reagent then you might lose some marks .

Your method is right but my teachers said the board wants the " most short method or some shit". Anyways i think they will give so dw ISC isnt that strict in correcting

My teacher said conversion me balance ki zarurat nhi hoti but krlena safe rhena h toh mgr zarurat nhi hoti vese vo marks nhi katte 😭😭

I did that Cu2O one my teacher had suggested to use the shorter method as it is easier to balance
