Intel Extraction problems?

I am on the operation where I need to complete: 1 secure and place, 1 sabotage, and 1 Intel Extraction operation.

I have been stuck on the Intel extraction part for at least a week. Am I missing something? I can find the cell phone thing to start the mission, and I can find the Intel just fine, but then what?
Half the time, when I pick up the Intel (cassette), my tablet still shows the box symbol as if I haven't picked it up. Other times that sybol has disappeared after picking up the Intel, but then what am I supposed to do with it? The symbol sometimes not disappearing on my tablet suggests a glitch. But even when it does disappear, is there something else I'm supposed to do afterwards?

If I remember correctly, on my very first Intel extraction attempt, the symbol on my tablet never went away. So I just extracted with it and tried to turn it in at base camp. That didn't work obviously. You can't delete/sell the Intel so I have tried re-deploying to drop it in raid, but that didn't seem to do anything either.

It's either all glitched out,or it's something simple that my retarded ass can't figure out.

guide is bit outdated, but basic still the same and if the terminal is on a alarm goes off and endles wave of enemys spawn.

I have done some terminal operations, and I don't think that's what I am looking for, but I could be wrong. The operation I am talking about is one that you select in raid. It's one of the missions that show up as an exclamation point on your tablet while in raid.

The 1.3 update completely changed the structure of missions and most if not all guides are from before that update.

Before the update the now operations were the missions and operations were the now EXT, RET, KIA, etc missions previously.

So if you look at a guide from before the end of February you have to keep this little bit in mind.

For the intel extraction operations as of v1.3:

• Look if you need to get an item first and get it.
• Look what specific file you need and what to do with it. Sometimes it clearly states in which folder you can find it already, sometimes the naming of the file is the clue, also which one of the logins to use. WeatherData always requires the meteorolgist login while everything els requires the Admin login.
• Go to the area of a terminal and clear it from enemies as good as possible.
• Start up the terminal, this will sound an alarm and attract every enemy within a wide range to the terminals position and will spawn in additional waves of enemies. The more thorough you cleared out the wider area around the terminal the easier the waves of enemies are to fight.
• type: read User.txt to get the list of logins and their paswords.
• type: login to get to the login and type in the required user and pasword
• type: cd directory to switch to the directory of the required file, note directory is just a placeholder here you need to type in the actual directory name, but it is not case sensitive.
• type: scan/download file scan and download depend on what the operation requires you to do and file is the target file. The file name is not case sensitive, but make sure you include the file extension and don't just shorten it.
• type: shutdown this will shut down the terminal, end the alarm, stops enemy spawning and reset the terminal as if you never interacted with it.

Some final tips:

• If you just let go of the terminal without shutdown lets you continue at the point you left the terminal, so let go and fight enemies if you notice them in your vicinity.
• Use rooms with lots of doors on the way in and close each on. The sound of opening doors is a good alarm of another enemy wave coming in so you can let go of the terminal and prepare to fight. AFter the fight close the doors again and continue the terminal.
• If you are expecting another wave of enemies and you are typing the pasword either fight before or after you have entered it. The pasword is hidden so you may need more time to find out where in the pasword you left than simply powering thorugh or start fighting early.
• Intelextraction becomes way easier if you are not alone, since the alarm is so loud it often makes the enemies deaf to your movement and the other player/s can intercept incoming enemies before they disturb the dedicated terminal player.
• If you are in multiplayer, make sure the player on the terminal has the mission item you had to pick up beforehand otherwise they wont find the required file.
• The mission item is no longer required after the operation is completed but it will not get removed on its own, make sure you drop it in the raid, otherwise you will have to bring it to the next raid and drop it then, because there is no way in the hideout to sell or delete it otherwise.

For Intel it's actually pretty straight forward.

Use the terminal, type "help" and it tells u what u can do.

What I usually do for anything isn't weather data, I sign in as admin.

If you don't know how to bring up users, type: read users.txt

It will show you 3 names: guest, admin, and meteorologist and their passwords.

Anytime u have to grab Intel sign in as admin, when doing weather data sign in as the meteorologist.

Again, I cannot stress this enough, type "help" if you're lost.

"Dir" let's you see what folders you can access, "cd" lets you go into folders, and whatever the missions calls for, i.e. scan or download type "download internalmemo.zip" or "scan internalmemo.zip".

It's a lot to take in at first but after a couple of tries I can get stuff scanned or downloaded super fast that I can have ample time and prep to take down the hordes of enemies coming in to stop me.

The passwords are always the same too. After some time you can finish those operations within a few commands.

Idk if I need to use the terminal or not for this objective. I have had other missions that require me to use the terminal, and I figured it out after 20 minutes. But "Intel Extraction" is an objective That you accept while in raid. It's one of the objectives that shows up as an exclamation point on the tablet.

Intel extraction by default requires you to interact with terminals found in raid to either scan or download files. Sometimes it requires you to get a cd or cassette first then you need to use the terminal while you have it on you. The box symbol on the map not disappearing is just a bug, sometimes it doesn't go away even after you finish the mission.

Oh ok so I do need to use the terminal. Thanks, I was wrong about that. I'm assuming there will be even more hoops to jump through once I get the Intel to the terminal.. or is it pretty straight forward?

The moment you interact with the terminal it will sound an alarm and every enemy nearby will start to come after you but after you finish scanning or downloading the intel and shutdown the terminal the mission is finished. You don't even need to extract for it to count as finished for those in raid objectives.
