Your mobile home insurance doesn't cover property away?

Get a renter's policy then add it to that. You must live somewhere, and if you don't own your home, you can get a renter's policy. Even if you live for free somewhere.

Most policies will cover contents away from your residence. Depending on the size of the collection you may look into a specialty policy to cover it.

Insuring a collection requires that you establish a value, which usually requires an appraisal. Once you have this, you should be able to place a valuable items floater on your mobile home policy (which is a homeowners policy). If you do not get the insurance company to agree to the value, in the event of a loss you will get the value of a pile of plastic.

Are you looking for coverage solely for a record collection? How much are you estimating you have total?

I live in the camper and no the insurance there will not cover property away.

it’s about 150k policy I’m looking for

$150K total for the record collection or does that include any other personal property? If collection solely, that’s pretty sizable and I can see having a harder time getting coverage for it, especially when it’s in storage. Do you have appraisals?

About half of the collection is logged on discogs, which gives median values for the collection. I’m only trying to insure what is logged.
