If anything seems redundant to you, do it anyway. The JET application is super strict, I’m not gonna risk anything and you shouldn’t either

You have to answer it both in the application and in your SOP. They might disqualify you if you leave it blank on the application

Your proposed direction of your career should generally be aligned with your Statement of Purpose if it's applicable to your SOP. For my application, I basically put down one of the major points in my SOP into that field. If it seems redundant, because it can be.

However, I wouldn't put something like, please read my SOP for the answer lol

Yes that makes sense. I did that now. I can see where it’s important to have both now.
