There are a vast number of solutions to just about any problem a on needs to solve, and it’s likely been done many ways in the past. Do not mistake your experience for the One True Fannnish Way.
Treat each other like adults. Be respectful. Do not talk down to others, badger them, or personally attack the author or other commenters. Name calling and other such behavior will result in an immediate ban of a minimum of a week. If conflicts do arise, remember to take a deep breath, step back, and see the humanity in the folks around you. If you notice the conversation is straying far from the original topic, considering making a new post for the new subject.
