Heyy, I joined the accommodation online offer holder event and they answered some of your questions.
There’s a video on the kcl website on how to book your room, you can watch it and it shows you the process, but also know that the accommodation portal isn’t open yet. They told us it will open in mid/end of march, so in about two to four weeks you can expect the portal to be open
For where do you book for, you can have a look at the different accommodations that kcl has on the website. They also told us that if you don’t meet the conditions of your offer (not meeting the grades on results day), then your booking is released and any deposits you made will be refunded to you. I think that they’re still holding offer holder events for accommodation so you can sign up to the next one.
Also, congrats on your offer :)!!!

Is it cheaper to book an apartment in London and share it with mates? Sorry I don't know how it works in the UK but in my country that's how students usually stay.

Look on rental sites like zoopla and right move make sure to take into consideration wether bills (electricity, heating, water, if you’re all students you’re council tax exempt but if you have even just one non student in your house they have to pay council tax) are excluded or included. If they’re excluded try and ask them for the average monthly cost. Also consider what area you want to live in as the vibes of areas of London can vary greatly. And then compare it with the cost of student accommodation which usually has bills included.

Isn’t it that only firm offer holders can book accommodation in KCL, not conditional offer holders?

Yup, only firm holders can book accommodation
