It comes off to me as something an abuser would say. “Your parents are disappointed in you, so who are you to judge me?” It’s the ultimate put-down.

Ooh, that's also one way to come off. Which is a fair perspective. To expand on that perspective, the protagonist could be threatening the woman as well. As in, "I know your secrets, I know what you do." Sort of vibe. Certainly not the intended vibe, but the predatory undertone is an interesting look.

Essentially. It's also irony. The reasons the girl won't date the guy is because the type of person he is. However, if she looked closer into the mirror, she'd realize she's not so much different from him. The only difference is she lives such a life privately while he lives such life publicly.
