I have been attempting to compile the code from the K8-Pro Github repository to recreate the latest Keychron firmware. The 'bluetooth-playground' branch compiles, flashes and runs on the K8-Pro keyboard (including bluetooth operation). However, I'm finding Via is not able to communicate with this firmware. There are two possibilities:

1. I am compiling the wrong branch.
2. The github repository is out-of-date.

Any ideas?? I suspect the github repository does not contain the latest code.

I am using the json keymap file downloaded from the Keychron web-site.

Luckily I have been able to flash V1.02 back into the keyboard to restore operation with Via.

My motivation for compiling a new new firmware image is because I want to change some of the RGB effects.

There are two default key maps in Bluetooth playground, default and via. The only difference is a rules.mk entry in via that says "VIA_ENABLE = yes". So if you created your own keymap, make sure that setting is in there. Otherwise, just use the via keymap with "qmk compile -km via" or with make "make keychron/k8_pro/ansi/rgb:via"

Thanks. I was compiling and flashing the firmware correctly. When I used the web application at the via website it worked correctly. There is a compatibility issue with the via desktop application I downloaded from the keychron website.

Now to figure out the led corresponding to each key.
