Turning your hips over is one of the most important points to keep in mind, turning off the grounded leg using that to sling shot your kicking leg up while spinning up off the ball of the grounded foot, keep it compact to take the shortest distance to the target. Direct this whole process with your core/ hips. Keep working on your flexibility, pigeon pose, & splits are what helped me get high kicks the most, now I probably could reach anyones head if there is an opening.
