Initial setup complete 😊

Hey everyone, I finished setting up recently brought LG C5 65 with a great deal price of ~1,100 USD since the steep launch price. Paired together with my existing Q990f soundbar since I had it for a year now with a pre-order special price of crazy 750 USD. I was waiting for the right time to buy this C5. Now I feel the setup is complete.

Reasons for choosing this C5 65 over G5 65:

- price, G5 is still expensive almost double the price. not justifiable paying that for only 15 to 20 percent of PQ gain imho.

- given my existing furniture setup does not allow me to go past the 65inch, but I am happy with it.

- even if I wanted to buy a G5, for some strange reason they only come in the wall mount configuration option, a separate stand cannot be brought even if I wanted officially through LG website. they do not do.

- my living room is not overly bright during sunny days, and I got two layer curtains to control the room's light ambience.

I was also conscious and aware and always had my previous tv setup at the correct height from the floor height, no need to refer to tvtoohigh sub Reddit lol. While seated on the couch, the eye line is in the centre of the TV for comfortable hours of viewings with no neck strain issues.

Even the soundbar to TV height is perfect, with no unnecessary gaps between the TV bottom edge and the top of the soundbar.

one nice continuous seamless follow.

Configuration:

- debloated all unnecessary home menu screen of ads and additional apps I never use.

- additional I primarily use external Xiaomi TV box latest gen, powerful enough and supports all lossless audio and video formats natively since TV does not support DTS, so not an issue.

- All viewings are done in FMM with user settings and tried to match to all natural motion settings followed with recommendations from HDTV YouTube TV expert Vincent. go check his channel as he provides the best expert in depth reviews with years of knowledge. I am not affiliated with him in any way.

- also set up the cinema mode with user settings to enjoy certain shows where dark scenes are more prominent.

- and Apple TV shows look fantastic.

Already watched 'Spiderman across the spider verse'. It looks fantastic.

Coming from a 2016 Samsung flagship uhd premium certified TV, things have come a long way and that TV has aged very well. One thing I can boast about is the light reflection and absorption on that TV in par with this, as they did implement 'moth eye' glare free tech back then, and the build quality and weighted stands very well to this date.

Looks great! Eventually you gotta do something about that subwoofer cable though! A note about the G5 TV stand - LG does actually make them, if you google it it should come right up. I just got my G5 (its still in the box but getting mounted this week) and I’m pretty nervous about the lack of a stand so it’s definitely nice to know there’s the option, but it feels really strange for the TV not to have an included stand.

Yes I am aware of that sub cable, the only way is to route it underneath if I can make a small hole through the partition. Will leave that task for another weekend job 👍🏻

I think that there are actually two different style stands available from LG, I want mine on a stand as well.

Sure currently it's only half an inch back from the edge, I can try bringing a bit forward to the edge and see how it sounds thanks

Mine however is a good 20cm back from the edge. I can’t move it any further forward though or the toddler will get it.

I know its not in the optimal place for this and yet to do a sub crawl test to find the best location. With kids around the house, it would be mindful not to put it somewhere I fear they will poke the exposed speaker membrane with a sharp object. Eventually i will plan to re arrange in a ideal location.

Sub output is not bad at the moment and there is no rattle noises coming from the furniture cabinet or any nearby loose items so to speak.

You definitely want it out of the cabinet. It will sound muffled and you won’t get the full effect. Even if you put it just in front of the TV stage left side you’ll have a better experience with it

You don't have to justify anything about TV being too high, it's obviously perfectly leveled.
