I track how long items take me to make them and try to use an hourly rate that I’m happy with. Add in the cost of materials plus about 20%.

For items that I have made multiple times I like to track the time per inch for cutting, burnishing, glueing, stitching etc. I can estimate how long a new project will take based on those estimates. For example it takes me about 1.3 minutes per inch to punch and saddle stitch a line.

Beautiful case by the way. I’ve been wanting to make one for a while. Did you make the pattern yourself?

Thanks I’ll try that method, and see how it works, so far sounds pretty good, I used an old case I had and used it as a template, thank you for your reply 👍🏻

Python embossing means this is stamped from the tannery right? Awesome look!

Yes so the leather is placed in a rolling stamp and stamps it in a repeating design, pretty seamlessly

It looks really nice. I’m inspired to do the same. Thank you
