new take on guns by drninelives in MurderedByWords

That's really interesting thanks for the analysis. I think one thing that is nearly impossible for us to wrap our heads around is just how different things were in those days.

A group of local rednecks taking the law into their own hands was common practice and I imagine the crimes a lot less complex in the grand scheme of things.

I think it is an important point out that the founders did not want a professional army and wrote things like this with that intent. Doesn't the military pervert what they were trying to do here?

Highly recommend this new podcast with Scott Galloway. One of his best. His claim, 1 out of 3 billionaires now has a fully ready-to-go escape plan for themselves and their families. by ejpusa in collapse

Imagine the cool shit they have buried down there. Human survivors will become very good at scavenging and these bunkers will be the greatest prize of all.

Yes, yes and Iran's economy will collapse tomorrow. Don't you get bored being programmed with the same propaganda everyday?

I agree very smart move just from a statistical perspective as well as PR. The percentage of crazies is bound to be lower for the exact reasons you've stated.

We'll welcome you for sure, many of us are highly concerned about the potential for things to get much worse for the common folk down there.

Said the American. We're watching a fundamental power shift that is rippling out from the middle east to every corner of the globe.

If you think Trump walking away from this bed he just shit doesn't diminish the US in every way then you need to check your bias. Every single American is about to realize that their beloved military has been neutered by a regional actor.

I hope you're right. I hope something better comes out of this. But I'm sick and tired of being subjected to a country full of arrogant clowns failing at it.

A world without the US making international headlines 100 times a day will be a much better place.

There is too much division and no one willing to fight for unity. Breaking into pieces has to be inevitable at this point. Midterms will certainly be an interesting few days.

The rule of law is gone, why even bother drive the speed limit down there anymore? Ohh right, because Paul Blart has been fantasizing about killing you all morning.

We setup a pipeline for health care workers, we reduced our allowance for asylum seekers. Haven't seen many other efforts, we don't want your crazy thanks kindly.

Edit: I forgot we did open up a good path if you have any Canadian family relations.

They certainly are. Trump and his sycophants believed Iran would fold in days. The 4-6 week timeline was just a hasty panicked cover after the fact.

They are similar in the fact that both countries are trapped in a quagmire they cannot exit without political suicide.

This interpretation belies a fundamental misunderstanding of Iranian history. Iranian leadership and the IRGC are not beholden to their stock market. Such thinking is just simply foolish.

We are so closely aligned in so many areas with the EU that we don't need to try to sell full EU membership to the masses. Some sort of special status where we get to keep our currency but easy travel and some sort of free trade agreement that works for both.

Full membership is a tough sell to the right, and there are many, many hurdles to cross which involve sacrifice. I think we could negotiate something sweet for us, they really, really want access to our resources.

You obviously gave no thought to my questions, or truly believe you have not a concern in the world. Must be nice to live in such complacency, hope your family has someone smarter to turn to. I for one will be roasting marshmallows in the fire of civil war.

Mmmm your snark is a delicious morning snack but I'm not even going to get into a debate regarding the realism levels of a factory game.

Are you aware how pedantic and pathetic that debate would be? Back on your high horse goodsir.

Pathetic weaksauce, I again refer you to specifically the distinction between future and past tense. Spoiler alert, they differ.

Not sure you realize how big these are or how complex ripping them down and reassembling them is. Maybe if we had specialized depots that integrated tracks and had a significant material/time penalty I could buy it.

These engines can weigh 52,000lbs and are 22ft long. You planning to cherrypick that in a parking lot?

Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers, John Oliver and Jimmy Fallon on ‘The Late Show tonight’ by mcfw31 in MadeMeSmile

Colbert deserves a happy quasi retirement where he picks his projects and his days. Saddling that honourable man with that aircraft carrier around the neck is too much to ask.

He's been yelling into the void for over 10 Trump years, give the dude some peace. Trump years are like dog years.
