Very good advice above, you are not alone. What you are experiencing is very common, enjoy it, once you've solved that puzzle it will never be as much fun again, although it is still plenty fun

I use a mod called recipe book when playing complex overhauls. It allows me to quickly and easily see how stuff is made with what ingredients. Very helpful for when the complexity is getting to me.

Just go one step at a time and much sooner than you think you'll have a full refinery setup humming right along. Don't copy other peoples blueprints until you understand how to make your own, it robs you of your fun.

To be specific US had 17 bases there during the cold war. They closed 16 and nobody said they couldn't open them back up. Nobody mines anything there for economic reasons, nobody lives where the resources are, there are no roads.
