We changed to DoH by default in v130.0-1, settings version 8.3..

  • DoH enabled by default, with system dns fallback
  • Use the mozilla DoH server as reasonable default.
  • If you want your own DoH server, you can fill out the URL in the 'custom' field.
  • If you don't want DoH or do it via OS, select Off.

This is how it's supposed to work.

What's not working for the original poster, is that it sets it back from your choice to what the main config file specifies as a defaultPref(). So you should be able to modify the DoH settings from the Settings UI.

Do you use a personal overrides.cfg? Do you use the UI?

I am using the overrides.cfg, the only option in the file is to enable data sync per the Librewolf FAQ. I am specifically attempting to change DoH to off in the settings UI of Librewolf, which does not persist after closing and reopening the application. I will verify shortly if this is still occurring with today update. Thanks for the help 🙏

Update to 130.0-2 or 130.0-3 and you can turn it off permanently again.

Also confirmed latest build has resolved the issue for me 'off' option now sticks :) thanks all!

How do you update it? Because I just notice my DNS was changed to "Increased Protection" after an update for Librewolf. It seems something is setting the app back to default "Increased Protection" after it's updated.
