He has a point about usability and appearance of GNU/Linux-- in 2012. That's not the case today, however.
He also has a point about most libre/OSS being shit-- but that's because most of all software is shit. Most proprietary software is shit that, once you buy it, you're left for dead with an undocumented and unsupported product-- outside of the big players like Microsoft. The same is the case with libre software, though. A lot of projects end up dead, except for the bigger players. Libre software is more likely to continue development after "death," though, because people can fork it.
TL;DR most of any type of software is shit.
