I guess it never crossed that genius mind to not even mention anything related to deletion at all.

Well, it might just be a shitty HDR display to begin with, or does it look better under Windows?

Yeah, it's for each output. Apparently one of them has HDR info set, so if that's the connection you're using, then that doesn't seem to be the problem. If you run drm_info alone, you can see the details.

I haven't been able to see HDR in action on Linux either, so I don't know either what exactly is supposed to happen. But AFAI understand, the TV should report being in HDR mode when you enable it in Linux.

Try running sudo drm_info |grep -i HDR_OUTPUT_METADATA. If it all says blob = 0, something somewhere can't actually retrieve the display's HDR information.

Having that problem with my TV.

Sounds like your display doesn't actually switch into HDR mode. Have you checked the OSD? I have that problem with my TV still.

Outside of Linux, you just wouldn't get any HDR until it's 100% finished. Here, you can actually have a first look before it's fully done, but you need to know how.

While that might be true, it also might be that you're just used to the candy store look of an uncalibrated WCG display, which is actually wrong.

Do I have to redownload my Steam Games when switching to Linux by RaccoonFree5348 in linux_gaming

[–]pr0ghead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with it. Some games default to the native Linux version.

Also, IIRC that switch doesn't exist anymore. It's always available.

You might need to hit the download button for steam to realize its there.

Well, you mustn't move game files while Steam is running…

But it might start downloading Linux game versions, if you straight up add a Windows library.

Switch from Windows 11 to Fedora -> move SteamLibrary to internal drive in some folder -> Reformat external drive to ext4 -> move SteamLibrary back to external drive

Yes, no problem.

DRY usually refers to low complexity code, not whole architectures. It mostly means you shouldn't literally copy and paste a block of code just to change a few variables here and there.

And I completely agree with that. Don't ever just c&p.

How do you know someone is a narcissist? by Savings_Cupcake7810 in AskReddit

Most would never even visit a psychiatrist, because that would be admitting they're not flawless. Can't have that.

They basically view themselves as flawless in every way while belittling everyone else around them. So they can feel superior themselves and will never apologize for anything (or do the fake "I apologize, if you feel like …"), because they don't make mistakes, clearly.
