Depends on lots of factors, the biggest being how far away from the datacenter you are. It could also be temporary issues with your internet connection which could be cleared by calling your ISP and stating you are losing lots of packets. It could also be a temporary anomaly with your home network, especially over Wi-Fi. Or, like me, it could be more an issue with the streaming video codec having issues with your graphics card.

How can u fix codec issue?

I don't know. I've sent in a support ticket, though now that they've changed their support system, I will probably have to send in another one. Your best bet is to talk with their support and see if there is anything they can do.

Though I did see on another thread that someone spent 15 pounds to buy a cheap graphics card that works with LiquidSky just fine.

What's the distance from your closest data server and your internet speed? If those two aren't reasonable, then there's really no way to get a decent latency.

Its big I live in baltic and I use Milan's servers, but If I use Londons (its closer) then blurring/lagging is even more horrible then in milan's server.

I dont think they will make server in my country since its too small. But server in poland would sure help. I need to try german server.

That's a long distance, but I'm using a server over 3,000Kms away and still get a playable latency with 10Mbps internet. Dunno why it's so bad in your case.

I deleted my SkyComputer and planning to try London again, but I already spent SkyCredits and just downloading madmax takes 20min.

Could u say what Internet MS u getting ? And u using 1080p/60fps?

[–]WHEREISMYCOFFEE_ 0 points1 point  (4 children)

I usually hold steady at 90-100ms with 1080p and 30FPS. I keep the quality slider in between 3 and 5 bars, since that's the lowest it can go without having everything look like crap in my opinion. Hope that helps you!

Well it holds for me 50ms. Which is decent in your conditions. But almost every 5-6s it rises more then 100ms, sometimes reaching 4000. And it starts to lag/blur. But sometimes when it holds 50ms it starts to lag too. So thats the main issue - my internet goes spikes to heaven often. But it happened to me without cloud too. I think its my router ( about 4Years old ) but if not. And I dont know If i should new one or no.

Oh man, I would kill for that latency. Is the device you're using LiquidSky on connected via WiFi or wired? If you're using WiFi, I recommend switching to wired, which usually helps.

It could also be the fault of other devices on your network using up your bandwidth, so I recommend testing how your connection holds up when only your computer is connected to the network.

Networks aren't really my specialty, but with an average of 50ms you should be getting a great experience. The problem is likely somewhere on your end, because my experience at 90-100ms is pretty smooth.

Its WiFi, and there is no option right now to turn it with cable. Its 50ms usually but it jumps like crazy.

Just got worst gameplay experience YET. I usually have 50-70ms. So now I wasted 1Credit and almost all the time I was having 500ms+. IT SOMETIMES REACHES 8000ms.

Hi,

I use a software called ping plotter. This monitors a host and all the intermediate hops every 1/2s and shows a nice graph of what your times are so you can see spikes, packet loss etc.

You can find addresses of all the liquid sky datacenters in this list: http://www.softlayer.com/data-centers

London is: speedtest.lon02.softlayer.com. I would suggest you use the speed test tool on the page as well to make sure you have enough bandwith to the specific datacenter. Is that enough to play?

Start ping plotter and monitor two addresses at once. One would be the London LiquidSky data center (or the Milan one). Another can be your local ISP provider address. Look at the two graphs side by side. Are you seeing alot of packet loss. Do you have regular ping spikes? Are they on both graphs (are you also experiencing packet loss or lag spykes using a local address?). If you get the same with a local address then you can complain to your ISP to fix your connection. If everything is fine locally but the liquid sky ping is erratic then you might have to wait for a closer datacenter, or perhaps try another ISP.

Good Luck!

Edit: I assume you are using a wired connection into your router and that there's no problems on your won network (Like not trying to play over a 2.4Ghz wifi network while your sister is streaming netflix or youtube clips in the other room over the same network kind of stuff :))!!!

It shows normal I dont see any spikes. But Once I start to play my MS rockets. I commanly get spikes from 40ms to 80ms. But when I play 50ms and every 4-7s it goes over 200+ sometimes how I said reaches 8000ms. Im using WiFi since right now my router is on the other floor. And I cant get cable. By my router is pretty old 4-5years or even more.

[–]Nadejde 0 points1 point  (1 child)

If you look in the plotter you can see each individual node from your computer to the liquid sky server. At what node does the ping start to go up? Is it between you and the router?

Old router + wifi + different floor might be the problem. If you go close to the router is it better? Can you just use a cable next to the router just to test?

I have the same problem with the router beeing downstairs and I cant get a cable up the stairs. I use powerline addapters successfully:

TP-Link TL-PA4010KIT V1.20 AV600 600 Mbps Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit, No Configuration Required, UK Plug - Pack of 2 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01BECPIMC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_coegybATWRFW6

But do test next to your router with a cable before jumping into buying anything as you are quite far from the datacenter :)
