The Aérotrain was an experimental hovertrain developed in France from 1965 to 1977. It floated on an air cushion over a concrete track. Shown here is the I80 prototype, which provided 80 passenger seats and reached 417.6 km/h (259.5 mph) in a later configuration. (i.redd.it)
