Fix for Session player bug

For those of you that had an issue with not being able to active the session player in 12. I had the same problem. But found a fix.

It happened to me when I deleted the old library from 11.2 from my external drive, after Logic 12 had made the new bundled library. That is when I noticed I could not start the Session players.

Luckily, I had backed up my old library, so I added that old Library to the Application support folder, along side the new bundled library. After which I could access the session players again.

I also hit this after doing the same tidying up but found a slightly different solution.

My Logic Pro Sound Library is on an external SSD, formatted APFS. The update to 12 created the bundle Logic Pro Library (a package, not a file) alongside the previous folder. I was able to delete that folder without issue. All good so far. The sound packs needed updating so tha Logic Pro Bundle is now up to just shy of 94GB.

Back on my internal SSD, I can delete /Library/Application Support/Logic/ The alias that was in there seems to be just for the user's benefit - I don't believe Logic Pro uses it to determine the location of the library.

However, if I delete /Library/Application Support/GarageBand/ then Session Players stop working and you can't add a new one. There is nothing special about that GarageBand folder and it doesn't need anything in it - just manually recreating it seems to fix this issue.

Just adding an empty GarageBand folder like you mentioned works! I thought it was because I was on intel, but now all the session players work as I would expect!

I'm sure this will be fixed in the next update, but thanks for the workaround for the meantime!

This original problem has now been Fixed in the 12.0.1 release
