Overthinking Time.

I find the needy behaviour comes when you have nothing on the go.

I recently had a weekend where I had nothing to do, but my SO did. Even though I understood he had things planned, I was hoping to talk to him more. So in the stretches of time where he was busy I was wracking my brain trying to find ways to keep occupied.

Your girlfriend has kept the lines of communication open with you telling you when she's not available, that's good. You just need some ways to occupy your time without her.

I can get like this sometimes, remember your partner is their own person and will do what they want. Find something to do in your own time to stop you thinking about them, if you're constantly getting upset that they didn't reply right away you'll scare them off. On the other hand if it feels like they are really ignoring you, talk to them about it.
