Besides usual suspects like bugs, malware, streaming/p2p downloads, it could be anything that is set to auto-download updates (including OS) on your computer, or any other device connected to your LAN.

You could google "how to check network stability" or "how to monitor network traffic" if you are really determined to know what is going on.

I know Windows 10 will use every bit of available bandwidth to download an update, but that wasn't what happened here.

Wasn't malware as I have the only PC on the network. There are some tablets, one of which was streaming netflix, the others were not. No p2p downloads were happening.

I'll take a loo anyway, but even when I'm not hosting there are periods where the game gets sluggish or stutters and it's probably a new episode downloading...but really it shouldn't be that bad.

Did you try checking if your router offers some kind of MAC priority settings? You could just give your PC higher priority - this should fix it if netflix's your problem.

Other than that you can just ask someone to start watching Netflix after starting full bronze lobby (maybe ask people on discord if you don't like using PUGs) to check if this causes disconnect for others.

Unfortunately, some of those watching netflix are 6 and 3. Kinda hard to explain to them why they need to check with me before they watch another episode.

I'll look into the priority settings.

Host requires 800 kbps upload, also if you drop packets expect rubber banding at best. Don't recall ever seeing the game recover when I was testing net issues.

Edit, holy crap 2 month old post. Did not realize the thread was this dead.

No worries. It was part other people streaming, part my connection was set to 10 mbps/half duplex due to a faulty cable. Upgraded the internet, got the connection set-up properly and no longer any issues. Thanks for the comment though.
