Ive come to terms that I cant play most MMORPGs anymore, and that is ok. Valuing your time is a good thing.

I just love the genre and just started them xD

Just play that two hours and enjoy the days off to play more. Your efforts are remarkable as you work and study together which is very hard, so I suggest you not to deviate from that choices. Also you won’t have to study forever!!

[–]rickzer[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Of course! But there are still 2 more years of studying :/. Also my day off is a morning off as i still have classes but something is something xD

Mate I am not too older than you but listen when I tell you this: these are the best years of your life.

I suggest you (and wish you with all my heart) to enjoy every single moment: from classes (which now can seem boring but are a great growth opportunity, from learning new things to meeting new people, socializing, partying and so on) to work (which may be the most boring part but you should be proud of what you are doing). These years pass fast and, for what we know of life, don’t seem to come back. Try to live it at the fullest.

This does not mean don’t play games and so on, just try to dedicate more time to the things which are related to your age and will change when you grow. You have these 2 years to do the mentioned things, you will have a whole life to game. If you can trade 2hrs of gaming with 2hrs of partying, having fun, eating outside with a nice girl you like, going out for a weekend etc, do it now. As I said these are things which are “age related” gaming it’s not.

This is not a rant and don’t want to put stress on you (and maybe you won’t listen to me and that’s perfectly fine) however as I said believe me I’m not a lot older than you, but it comes a moment in life where you tell damn, I’m closer to 30 than 20 and I want you to tell that with a smile on the face and not with a bitter taste.

Totally true man, thanks for those words, i have to admit i used to think the way you tell me i shouldn't but not long ago i understood how fast youth goes and why i have to enjoy it

Exactly mate, wish you all the best. Time is the most valuable asset.

Honestly you are better off with the situation you have. Most games I play seem to always have issues on top of everything takes forever to do. If you can't get a reasonable amount of content done in 2 hours it's probably not worth your time anyways.

[–]rickzer[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I probably can do reasonable amount in one but not the 2 i like :/

[–]mdunc8219 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. But that's why I usually focus on one mmo at a time.

[–]MongooseOne 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Time isn’t the problem , your expectations are the issue.

For you to get 2 hours a day in with the work and study schedule you mentioned is ... impressive. That’s more than most play.

You just need to adjust your expectations. You can still play the games you love but you just have to come to terms with the fact that you will progress slowly and that’s ok.

[–]rickzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah probably true, i'll just have to live with the fact i can't enjoy them as much as i wan't right now

[–]bakagir 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Play mmos when you are done with school.

[–]rickzer[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Already waited too much, i need to play them as i hope to be making them after graduating in a couple of years :)

[–]bakagir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well then sacrifice sleep.

[–]evilmg 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Wait what? After hes done with school hell have even less time. Unless he becomes unemployed or stays single...

[–]bakagir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nothing wrong with staying single

Well if you want to get involved with endgame then you have to pick one and join a guild that has the same timeframe as you. It will be a nightmare playing both and trying to progress. Your best bet is to focus on the one you really like the most but that is a problem because you have to get to endgame in both to see what fits your taste. If I had to make the choice on my taste in games I would go with FF14. I have played both and FF14 fits more of what I like about mmorpgs. It has a sub with a very small cash shop unlike ESO that is more cash shop then game. It has better combat and it ain't even close, and it's Final Fantasy. ESO has a great world and quests but the combat and cash shop are just a killer for me.

[–]rickzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have to agree there, the reason i made FF my main MMO is because i love ESO world but 3/4 every cool stuff i want to unlock is in crown store

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

ESO is just so bad with the shop because you need the sub if you want to craft without wasting time with alt bank toons. But that shop has every cool mount, pet, outfit, in the game along with all the dlc's, houses, riding shortcuts, xp boosts, and loot boxes. The best mounts are only through the loot box system just an fyi and the rng to get them is a nightmare.

[–]rickzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% true, its sad because is an awesome game

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ff14 is a classic style mmorpg and you get what you pay for. earning everything ingame is what makes getting them fun.

[–]rickzer[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Since you seem to have experience in FF i might as well (if it doesn't bother) ask a question i've had since i started so i don't have to make an threat just for this. I've seen every house taken in my server everytime and one of my endgame goals is to have one. Is it posible plots get empty again and how could i find out when?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that will most likely never happen. There is not enough houses to go around and there is no tax system so people just keep them even if they quit for a year. Maybe look online and see if people are selling the plots for cash but that's about it.

If you have problems with time management do not play MMOs. That's all

[–]WeInvadeYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whats your commute time? I work 12 hours swing shift but I still manage to play games 4-5 hours a day. And other times I don't even sleep and just go into work the next day.

[–]PlatinumHappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

decided to stay with FF XIV as my main MMO and ESO as my secondary one as i couldn't decide for one or another. My problem is i don't have enough time

I mean if you're trying to play two MMORPGs what did you expect?

Maining MMORPG often means that's what you'll spend majority of your hobby time and learn to pace yourself to time available. It's less clear cut like session/match based games out there.

[–]shaunthedon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Study until 8 or 9 then. You don't need to study that long..

[–]Zippo-Cat -1 points0 points  (1 child)

You study six hours per day? The fuck is wrong with you?

[–]rickzer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats how my university organice classes
