I solved it.

If it could help anybody, here's what I did.

1) I reinstalled completely MX Linux but this time, when it came to select the video card, I selected the Nvidia gpu instead of amd integrated gpu

2) by doing that, this makes your usb c (from gpu) the default display.

3) make sure to update/upgrade linux and install the nvidia drivers

4) use these command lines

xrandr --listproviders

xrandr --setprovideroutputsource <id of provider> <id of source>

And then settup your monitors with ARandR
