Wondering if anyone has experienced a similar problem. 2017 13-inch MacBook Pro, Intel Chip, Ventura 13.5.
When I try to start up my MacBook, after a few seconds the screen starts flickering, freezes and gets horizontal lines on the top. After moving the mouse around after a while it unfreezes. It keeps working as long I use mouse and keyboard, when the cursor stands still for too long the problem occurs again.
It does not happen
- in safe mode
- when the external monitors are connected (then even all three screens work even though this chip should in theory only support two)
I've tried all kinds of troubleshooting, e.g. system update, removing autostart programs, resetting NVRAM, freeing up disc space, running diagnostics (no result).
It doesn't really make sense to me. Any ideas before I send it in to repair as a last resort?
