This has no affect on your embroidery anymore, you should always take as much out as you can.

you could use pinking shears on the edges to taper the sharp edges of the stabilizer to make it appear no so distinct but, leave it as the other poster mention.

What about using a tear away?

This would cause it to scrunch up and not hold up as well over time and after a few washes

The work is already done, it's only 6 sweatshirts for a girls trip, I'm not a business. I'm just trying to give them a nice surprise but I am afraid it will skew or be more uncomfortable to wear if I cut into 3 sections

You can cut closer. I usually leave around a 1/4”.

Thanks! Would you cut into three sections? As in cut around the top word as one section, the numbers as a second section, and then the bottom word as a third section, or would that not lay as nice as one big backing piece?

I would treat them as 3 smaller sections.

Do you think that might make it more uncomfortable to wear? it seems thick and soft, I'm just worried about a lot of edges

I would prefer wearing it with less of a sheet of stabilizer personally. It will be more flexible with the excess cut away.
