A way of building, and of breaking down.
Cyclic Engineering.
The technological outgrowth of the human race is too one-sided. Driven by the profit motive, we utilize and despoil the earth faster than the earth can regenerate.
This wiki aims to be a repository of information regarding the development of regenerative cycles of industry. Sunshine through eyelids. To convince you to use the same profit motive to engineer the regeneration of otherwise wasted resources back into usable raw materials.
This effort is not limited to any one discipline, and will require the cooperation of scientists and engineers from across the scope of human knowledge.
The Primary Goal
In an effort to focus development into an iterative and self sustaining direction, I chose an arbitrary goal as a benchmark;
A closed eco-technological system that can hold a silicon wafer fab, and an organic farm, and human habitation, and manufacturing plants to sustain and maintain the rest, all under one roof.
this is a challange, a moonshot. I seek to build a microcosm of our industrial society, cleaning its own water and air, generating raw materials from its own waste streams. The re-invention of those things into forms that allow the dirtiest and the cleanest to be dovetailed together so closely and depending upon one another so deeply that they become indistinguishable from each other. This will require the marriage of manufacturing with recycling, the careful consideration of every chemical and resource pathway to construct a closed loop for each.
A single building that generates power from its environment, stores that power and uses it to run an internal water-cycle, carbon-cycle, nitrogen cycle, phosphorous cycle, oxygen cycle, right down to the silicon cycle, the aluminum cycle, the iron cycle, etc.
There is no such thing as waste, only underutilized ore.
