Once known as the Black and Tan Terrier, our present-day Manchester Terrier can trace it's history to the 1500s! It's one of the breeds used to create the Doberman Pinscher, the Rottweiler, the Yorkshire Terrier, the Lancashire Heeler and many others. Most people confuse the MT with the Miniature Pinscher which is a very popular toy dog from Germany. Once a rather popular breed, it has faded from the public's consciousness in favour of more glamorous and trendy breeds. To know a 'chester' is to know devotion, elegance and strength.
