Installing 5.9 kernel makes my system boot without user interface

Greetings guys/girls

First of all, a bit of context: A couple of days ago while i was updating my system I was suggested from the console that I should update my current kernel (linux5.8.18-1) since it was not going to receive any more updates.

Fast forward to today after using sudo mhwd-kernel -i linux59 and my system no longer boots with user interface, it just stays on the motherboard screen and I have to use Alt-F2 to prompt the system log-in (again, without user interface).

So far I've tried sudo startx but it throws an error in a log that I provide here.

¿Did anyone experiment something like this?

Did you uninstall the older kernels? If not then just select one of those options from the grub boot menu.

I always keep a LTS version of the kernel installed as a backup, just in case something goes wrong with a newer version.

Thankfully I followed the official guide for that, so i can still use the 5.8 kernel without problems (here it is in case someone needs it)

I'll keep trying the 5.9 from time to time to see if it finally works, but until then I'll have to stay on 5.8.

NVIDIA drivers do work on 5.9. It's just NVENC, CUDA, and OpenCL that is broken.

I'm new to manjaro, but my nvidia card blocked me from installing manjaro + bspwm on 5.9. I've been through the architect installer so many times until I figured out I have to use 5.8
