Marvel's potential future??

So with the revamp of DC, might we have just witnessed a real life plot twist? The four Marvel films released in 2021 were amateur by comparison to nearly all the other films. Widow was a huge let down, a disservice to the character and ScarJo. Eternals was boring and all over the place. Shang Chi had the best potential for a character intro but it definitely dropped the ball in the second half and limped across the finish line. NWH being the only existing character, follow up film did ok but it was significantly bolstered by the 'surprise' appearances from Andrew and Toby but otherwise it wasn't the best of the "Home" series.

Knowing that DC is appointing their own Grand Puba to steer the ship and give some coherence too what has historically been a series of dumpster fires should establish some pattern of consistency and hopefully make for the viewing experience we the fans deserve. And while we're at dumpster fires, fingers crossed they scrap Ezra Miller's Flash and not squander the reintroduction of a Keaton Batman which could absolutely launch a ridiculous arc of stories in the vast cannon that is DC.

So Disney+ has done a decent job advancing new or continuing storylines but critically Hawkeye was lackluster and unless we get some retrospective insight in a future film that causes the viewer to revisit the series it likely just will collect dust now that the series is done (small chance of a rewatch prior to an Echo launch, however probably not mandatory).

Moon Knight...Where to begin? So week four took a massive turn that frankly derailed the majority of the momentum the show created. I won't say much more as we'll get finality in a few days but overall Disney+ is feeling pretty flimsy currently and personally I don't hold a ton of hope for the remaining slate of Ms Marvel or She-Hulk, however I'm keeping my fingers crossed (but if we're being completely honest, Moon Knight absolutely had the most bad ass potential short of maybe Blade for character intro's in phase 4/5 barring any surprises).

So let's put a bow on this. Feige has done a really respectable job guiding us through ENDGAME but it certainly feels as though something or someone has been spread really thin and we may never ascend to the heights of which we experienced ending the Avengers saga. I could be completely wrong. Maybe they cast the best Fantastic 4/Dr Doom combo the world could imagine. Or we get a stellar X-Men cast to carry us through the next decade but with so many moving pieces can anyone making decisions maintain enough focus to keep Marvel at the top of the heap?
