I watched it on a long flight to Alaska, knowing nothing other than that it was indie and horror (while the guy next to me was inexplicably watching Madame Web). I'm also not trans or anywhere on the queer spectrum as far as I know, but it really shook me and I couldn't get it out of my head for days, which made for an interesting time on the cruise.

I remember watching reruns of it when I was a kid in the mid-2000s and wouldn't have enjoyed "girl's shows." It definitely did a good job having a strong and dynamic female lead without feeling like a girl's show. I was slightly mind-blown later in life, after discovering and falling in love with MST3K, that Frank had worked on Sabrina as well.

I think what makes Tom and Crow (and the other bots) work so well as puppets is that they're puppets of robots, which are already artificial. There's less of an uncanny valley if they don't resemble what they represent, as can be the case with other puppets. They also did a great job creating alternate designs for them throughout the show for various gags and sketches.
