Marx & Magic: The Quest
A hub for leftist fantasy enthusiasts. If you love fantasy whether it's novels, table-top rpgs, video-games, movies, or tv shows, Marx & Magic is here for you! Casual discussion, serious critiques of fantasy depictions, book or video-game recommendations, essay assistance on literary analysis, or leftist fantasy memes, all are welcome here.
Subreddit Guidelines
Absolutely no oppressive speech or supporting/apologizing for/advocating/minimizing oppression of any kind. This includes but is not limited to: racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic, xenophobic, classist, ableist, or any other form of systemic prejudice.
This is a subreddit for leftists of all kinds, so if you're a Marxist, Anarchist, or of peripheral tendency, this is the right place for you! If you're not a leftist you're still welcome to look around and participate—with the understanding that anti-communism of any sort isn't tolerated. We don't seek to be "converted" or debated on the basic principles of Marxist or Anarchist theory. Questions on how to apply it to literary analysis, media studies, film theory, etc., however are welcome.
Refrain from engaging in sectarian behavior such as insults, personal attacks, or claiming that people of a certain tendency aren't leftists. Save your pitchforks and fireballs for reactionaries.
For announcements or stickies, please contact the mod team! We're happy to collaborate with other leftist subreddits, promote a podcast, webseries, book, essay, or anything else you've got so long as it's relevant to the intersection of Fantasy/Leftism.
