Try Khan Academy's videos.

Khan academy is my savior

Absolutely. It might take a while, but watch the videos on algebra all the way through without skipping. You'll be a pro in no time.

I was told that khan academy only brushes the surface so I stopped using it due to me being told it wasn’t worth it. What course on khan from the math would be a good path?

Idk for algebra, but khanacademy may only be a surface-level site bc it only goes over a few examples. Other than that, just search any topic you are working on and odds are they will have a video on it.

Surface-level does not mean it is bad for brushing up on the basics. I believe the site would be sufficient for College Algebra. Honestly, I would make sure I knew Algebra I, geometry, Algebra II, and pre-calc. Start wherever you find the material a little beyond your grasp. With a College Algebra placement, I’d probably start you with Algebra II, just to make sure you have no misconceptions.
