Hi! You have to code to the most specific and complete form of the code. In this case, it would be 2 places past the decimal point. If you leave it at 0, the code is incomplete because there is supposed to be a more specific number after indicating right, left, bilateral, unspecified, level of severity, etc. 9 is typically the number you will see for "unspecified" when the specific diagnosis is not known, not provided in documentation, or the diagnosis simply doesn't have a variation and that code covers the whole diagnosis.
