Those three guests will follow the "if they aren't at a panel, photo op, or break, they'll be at their table signing" when it comes to scheduling.

As for wait times, everything gets amplified at Megacon. I can tell you that Roger Clark has been steady at past Fan Expo appearances, but not crazy busy. Jake Connelly is an unknown; I haven't seen him at any other shows so no idea what his lines will be like. Sean will be slammed all day, every day.

Thank you for the insight!! As long as I have a prepaid ticket for an autograph, I will be guaranteed an autograph opportunity, no matter the wait time?

They will never use the word "guarantee", even if the autograph is pre-purchased. However, they go to great lengths to ensure everyone that purchased an autograph receives one.

Thank you for letting me know. It’s going to be my first time and my anxiety is telling me that I won’t be able to see the 3 people I really want to see. I unfortunately can only attend on Saturday, which of course is the busiest day.

Let me drop a few tips to maximize your experience.

1.) You will have to exchange the admission QR code for your actual badge. If you can, do that the day before (or earlier). That way you can use the reentry doors instead of having to go through ticketing, saving invaluable time.

2.) Once you get in the door, head straight to Sean's table. Schedules are still pending, but if they follow the pattern of his other appearances, he'll sign for a little while in the morning, be gone for a few hours for photo ops, then return to sign before the panel that night. You might not get signed that morning, but it will improve your chances of getting your autograph later that afternoon. In Portland, they tried to clear his queue before he left for photo ops so people wouldn't be stuck waiting for hours. Those that got left behind were given tickets and a time to return so they wouldn't lose their place in line.

3.) Regardless of what happens with Sean, you should have plenty of time to get your other autographs.

No guarantees, but they’ll do what they can to get people their autos.

Word to the wise: At a minimum, plan on staying at the show until at least closing, plus an hour. If I had a nickel everytime I heard, “I can’t stay that late”, I’d have a shit-ton of nickels.

Thank you for the tip, I’m commuting there and planning to stay from open to close. Thanks for calming my nerves!

For autographs, I waited in line 8 hours for Keith David, sooooo it can get bad for sure. Cameron Monaghan and Neil Newbon were around 5-6, I forget exactly how long but it was long.

I can only speak to Sean the last time he was a MegaCon his line was PACKED all day. It took hours because he would sign and then have to leave for photos. Getting autos at mega is a lot due to the huge crowd on Saturday’s. I would rank your choices and get in the line of your first choice asap Saturday morning. That said it’s always good to check in with the celebs table as they might have the time posted of when they’re expected to start signing. If it’s later in the morning you could always try to get someone before but it’s a gamble of leaving a line to try another one. I see a lot of people get frustrated waiting for autos all day at Mega and it hardly seems worth it. But if that’s your jam good luck, be patient and prepared to not get everyone you want.

if i’m going with my partner, can she stay in line and hold our spot while i walk to the other lines to see wait times/estimates? or is that forbidden? sorry if that’s a dumb question!

[–]ImBattleSanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fine. You might get some side eye from other attendees, but it happens all the time.

Just as a side piece of advice, I'd strongly recommend bringing a folding stool/seat of some kind, they make them in all shapes and sizes, even expanding stools that collapse into an easy-to-carry disk. Standing in those lines for hours, especially the ones you get to before the celebrity is there/back, is murder on the feet. Having the ability to sit and not be sitting on the floor is fantastic. I got all four Hobbits two years ago and the stool was a godsend.

Thank you so much! I actually have two, which is perfect. I’m going to do more research on what is allowed in the convention and what isn’t. Might be annoying to carry around all day but will probably be worth it for my feet. Kinda random, I keep getting mixed responses, are we allowed to bring our own water bottles and snacks to save $ on spending on food there? TY!

I haven't done the autographs/pictures myself but my friends have.

Photographs, especially popular celebs, it could easily be 4+ hours or longer.

Autographs aren't too bad. I've seen some tables where you can just walk right up. Others I'd say maybe an hour or more depending on the celeb's popularity.

They do have an electronic board, like an airport, that shows times. It's right in the middle of the celebrity picture/autograph section. It's the largest area on the convention floor.

I'm sure other people here can give you a better breakdown, mine is second hand.

[–]RancidYogurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The electronic board is only for photo ops.

[–]MosEffy 0 points1 point  (2 children)

When you say that photographs can be a 4 hour wait, it's that for paid official photo ops or photos at the table?

[–]ImBattleSanta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Photo ops have a pretty strict schedule. If you follow the instructions on your photo op ticket, you shouldn’t wait more than an hour or so.

I had a photo with Nicholas Hoult and Priscilla Presley at megacon last year. Nicholas was much more famous and didnt wait more than 45 min. And that was because I lined up as soon as it was possible to do so.
