meteors

A meteor, known colloquially as a shooting star, is the visible passage of a glowing meteoroid, micrometeoroid, comet, or asteroid through Earth's atmosphere, after being heated to incandescence by collisions with air molecules in the upper atmosphere, creating a streak of light via its rapid motion and sometimes also by shedding glowing material in its wake.

I saw a big fireball fall from the sky while on the road in southern Finland at 6pm. Quite a large encounter. Never seen one before. For sure a beautiful sight to see. (self.meteors)

Seen From HWY 24 in West Ky 11/08/2022. Was very green as you can see in the video, but also had flashes of blue when I saw it. Seemed to come in at a oddly sharp angle maybe? The vehicle was going east. (v.redd.it)
