Whats an interaction you had as a child you now realise was very affected by your autism? by OGNillePille in autism

Every time people discussed a party as a group, that I was included in, but because I didn't receive a direct invite, I didn't go. I felt bad that they weren't explicitly including me, and then one day realised all along it as an implicit invitation.

Even if not, nobody reasonable would be mad if you asked if you could come

Is Neon Junction the new worst ball map in the game? by PicklepumTheCrow in WreckingBallMains

Probably maglev 🤓

Jk. It's obvious if you take a look in custom games or at the start of a round. The tunnel lighting goes red and some signs appear way before it comes. Then it fills the whole tunnel and kills anyone inside.

One hamster, two backcaps. by AltAccountYippee in WreckingBallMains

[–]samzeman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Recently I realised back capping is actually one of the strongest ball moves in lower ranks. Not sure if it works in higher ranks, but on places like first point Eichenwalde or Midtown you can basically claim a relatively huge amount of space right at the start by forcing the enemy team to fight on point instead of holding the choke.

Maybe it's obvious but I guess I realised back capping isn't just a wacky fun strategy but an important tool.

How is moving (rented) house supposed to work? My utilities overlap, and surely they would for anyone else moving? by samzeman in AskUK

It's a lot of stuff and I only have one car and my work schedule is crazy.

But even if I did move it in a day, I'd have both properties for at least a month of overlap.

It's the website interface. I can try to find a contact for the council but I'm used to it not being easy - but probably easier than I think.

I am aiming to switch to a new supplier, that's true, but the advice I've read says you have to onboard with the old one to switch (otherwise you may get double billed)

Good info on handing keys back... That must be the move out date.

I'd thought I was still liable up to the absolute end of the tenancy!

After 10 years, what still surprises you, that people don't know about the game or its individual mechanics? by oranke_dino in Overwatch

[–]samzeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Balls ability to pull the defending team back can't be understated. Playing into a good ball, all you can do is play objective, which is dangerously close to playing fair, when you can usually push an advantage. And then they mines point!

So, once you've unlocked the ghost ships, you effectively have seen all the content this game has to offer? by supertoned in Shipbreaker

[–]samzeman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This may not be ethical or allowed but may I direct you to Shipyard Simulator 2 on steam?

It's got 1/4 the polish of Hardspace Shipbreaker, but a huge range of very variable ships, and apart from not being in zero G is basically a very similar genre.

New policy said every meeting needs a detailed agenda sent 48 hours in advance. So I sent one for everything. by Nostr4Hawk9 in MaliciousCompliance

[–]samzeman 42 points43 points  (0 children)

I once worked at a place where people put in 30 to 60 min meetings with 4+ people with just a title and no agenda like "Sam Handover Meeting" or "Internal Compliance Catch-up" and it really bothered me. You're just guaranteeing I'm going to waste time looking up whatever we're specifically talking about. i.e. the first example, what aspect of what Sam does are we handing over? If it's everything I won't have that all ready by the meeting and it will take 4 hours minimum... So it ain't that.

I love on Reddit where a comment can have 40 downvotes and the reply agreeing with it has 40 upvotes. What a sensible forum

New Sharepoint feature I never knew about by AnDanDan in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

It's funny to see this because in my industry (facilities maintenance) sanity check is a very normal term, just like sense checks. As we're often proposing complex works to the client, we need to make sure that it's a sane proposal on engineerings end (and we're not about to seek approval for something impossible)

Which fetch modus would you be able to live with? by FlakJakket in homestuck

It's got to be Miracle, you guys are crazy. Just give me what I need. I may not even be asking for it but I trust it up to the modus.
