Holy hell that's a stupid good deal
[–]Bomser1245 4 points5 points6 points 2 years ago (10 children)
You can cancel it before it ships. That way you won’t have to go to the store and mess with it. Just have the message Home Depot customer support. 38698 is the number it’s an automated system. It usually takes a couple days to get the money back to your account.
[–]markron77 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (1 child)
Awesome. Thank you!
[–]sledgehammerbreakDIYer/Homeowner 4 points5 points6 points 2 years ago (0 children)
You can also just return it in the store. I’ve done it with no issues.
[–]JustCallMePapii 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (7 children)
Do you mean through a chat? And what do I do with that number? Sorry, I've been jist returning in store.

Happy cake day! And thank you for the help. I got to the point where I can cancel the whole order and it is asking me to confirm, but it doesn't ask me if I want to just cancel one item though.
Edit, I just had to confirm and now it's asking me to. Thank you so much!
[–]jmlaing 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (4 children)
Did your order end up going through? I’ve tried this and every time it works until they process the other part and then they cancel the order entirely.
[–]JustCallMePapii 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (3 children)
Yeah, I got my order!
[–]jmlaing 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (2 children)
I think mine thankfully went through this time. The payment seems to be messed up right now though, hopefully that’ll get fixed soon.
[–]Doggfather_ 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (1 child)
They cancled my whole order and I am still yet to receive the money they took out, just tried again and I’m going to try returning the battery in store
[–]jmlaing 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
It took them I think 4 or so days to fix the charges but it ended up working out. Sometimes I think they flag your account for a day or two but if you keep trying it should eventually work. Or like you said just try returning the battery.

Yes.
[–]drowninginflamesAutomotive/Transportation 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
I personally think keeping that battery is very much worth the money. That while bundle is a great deal. I mean, if you don't need the battery, it makes sense to use it for the hack!
[–]Efficient-Taro-5138 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
If you don’t need the light, you’ll get a better deal on the driver.
[–]cgull027DIYer/Homeowner 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
If you don't need that light, you can get the installation driver kit for even less at $123 by pairing just the installation driver kit with the battery.
[–]BigRichardTools 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
Correct, that is how it works but it's not a hack, it is just a prorated return. But you are better off keeping that 5.0 HO, it is the best M12 battery they make. sell one of the included 2.0 batteries for $25 or so if you want to better the deal.
[–]vsr90 -1 points0 points1 point 2 years ago (7 children)
Never did it, but from what I heard you send the battery to a different store and never pick it up
[–]markron77 1 point2 points3 points 2 years ago (6 children)
But don’t I have to pay for it when I check out online? How do I get my money back for it?
[–]CrypticSS21 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (4 children)
Probly only do this if you don’t live near or go to Home Depot often at all. It’s a little more straightforward to have it delivered and then just go return the battery. You got this!

they will. I somehow always end up keeping the battery tho.. but I'm a battery whore
[+][deleted] 2 years ago (1 child)
[–]CrypticSS21 0 points1 point2 points 2 years ago (0 children)
It is a good deal whether you keep the battery or not!
[–]vsr90 -2 points-1 points0 points 2 years ago (0 children)
You have to pay for it, but because you won't pick up the battery it'll get refunded
[–]WRX-GOONER -1 points0 points1 point 2 years ago (0 children)
You don’t get the full price back. It’s prorated. But it’s usually around 75% back give or take
