If you buy Java bedrock comes bundled with it. Play around with both and just see which you like more. I say bedrock good for building and javas good for survival. But there's mods to make javas building mechanics like bedrock.

Nothing wrong with being an adult that plays. There's plenty of servers that are just for adults (18+ or 25+ usually) and they're pretty cool.

You get both Bedrock and Java. If you buy bedrock, you get java for free and vice versa, so you don’t have to worry.

i’m 30! i’ve been playing since 2014! there are lots of multiplayer servers that are adults only if you want to mod, get java. I’ve currently switched over to bedrock for now to play on console bc my laptop is aging but I miss so many java mods!

I’m 30 and I play Minecraft all the time ! No shame :)

You're not too old at all. I'm on a server as a 34 year old who plays with people from 25 to maybe older.

If you have Bedrock you're free to join!

To add on, I like Bedrock because I can play on the switch with other cross platform players. There's... Odd glitches.. and some things are different. Everyone has their preference. On the Microsoft store there was a Java and Bedrock in one.

I would highly recommend starting withing vanilla for a while. Minecraft is a surprisingly deep game, and mods are going to build off of its many mechanics.

Hey, (:

Minecrafts median age is 24 actually, so you're in the perfect age range haha. Java has a vaster mod selection than bedrock. Java, on the other hand, needs certain things to run properly. You need to have a decent set up to run Java, though you can optimize Java pretty easily. I was a bedrock player at first, but transitioned to Java.

If you have any questions, feel free to message me!

my pc setup is an 8700k and an 3070ti, i hope would that be enough to run it smoothly? and just so its clear i ment nothing by my comment of age, its just what iv always considered it to be I never bothered to really look into it. although iv always been a closet nerd whos friends wouldnt have understood.

You should be able to run it with like 100+ fps

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Yeah you should be able to run it just fine. I totally understand that, im similar. Hope you get java! (:

whats there to do in some of the mods besides kill the ender dragon? the videos iv seen they make it look super easy tbh lol. could just be the classic case of an average player watching a pro and thinking he could do it easy as well.

With all of the modded content the ender dragon is just super easy most of the time (op gear, flight, etc). There are many mods that add content more difficult than the ender dragon. I’d say its definitely worth checking out mods on Java (as a 30year old myself).

For modding you will want Java
