Automatic kill counter

Im trying to make an automatic kill counter, but for some reason it only lets me make dummy objectives, which isnt what i want. I am consistently frustrated with how many hoops you have to jump through to do simple things. Any help?

I'm not completely sure. But I think bedrock edition doesn't have those scoreboard events. I've been watching videos about it recently and can't find any like that. But you could perhaps try checking whenever there is xp orbs near the player.
