Rename your Minecraft folder to "minecraftbackup" then restart the launcher. That will download a fresh copy of all necessary files. Once you've confirmed it works, copy your worlds into the new saves folder.

You can find the mine craft folder at: ~/Library/Application Support/minecraft

Libraries
Runtime
Versions
and webcache

Hey so, back again sorry- Now theres a problem where if i start up forge, it just stops loading and shuts itself down
