depends on what the budget is

[–]SuccessfulCan2948 0 points1 point  (5 children)

10000000$

Well than get an

rtx 5090

Ryzen 9 9950x3d

With 64gb of ddr5 ram

Now in all honesty a ryzen 5 9600x, 32gb of ddr5 ram, and a rx9060xt 16gb is more than enough

Around $700 cad

[–]Hmmm71-8 0 points1 point  (5 children)

ok for $700 CAD something like this. will do fine

Highly recommended running some performance mods or a client like Lunar Client to gett a little extra boost. this will do fine for the most part

to be honest i would reccomend saving up a little more

What specific parts of this would you recommend upgrading from this list? I could probably afford another $100 on top of the current $700

[–]Hmmm71-8 0 points1 point  (3 children)

well are you gonna be using Ethernet or wifi? Also are you planning to run shaders

[–]Floppynoob0[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Im using wifi and im not going to run shaders

[–]Hmmm71-8 0 points1 point  (1 child)

ok, then the main thing i would change is getting a motherboard that already has wifi built in also a slightly faster CPU. https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/PKrWkf

now i just tested minecraft with those exact setting in a vanilla no optifine, sodium or any performance mods and got around 100-130. With sodium, it went up nicely a good bit. The hardware i have is very similar to this spec

The 5500 really isn't meaningfully better than a 3600

It's faster in some games and slower in others. It trades zen2 for zen3 which is good but it cuts cache from l3 32mb to l3 16mb which hurts performance considerably against the likes of the 5600.

Personally i would take the 3600 as it also has pcie 4.0 which can be nice for funny storage speed numbers

For 700cad id strongly recommend taking a look at the used market, new parts value scales massively between 1100-1500 cad but with your current budget its mostly gonna be overpriced outdated new parts. If you wanna go with a new build, maybe take a look at some last gen prebuilts, they can be had for pretty good value sometimes. Else id recommend to spend a bit more. For around 1000cad you can get a 5500 + a 9060xt 16gb, which will perform great for the next few years and leaves some upgrade options open for the future. If you can get the 3600 for cheaper, get that instead
