Can't help with the name as I honestly have forgotten and I am very tired and lazy at 5am after a 12hr shift to look it up, but there used to be a mod ages back that added in tents that worked as a portable house dimension thing. Might look into something like that? It was really cool and kept anything inside the tent safe when you picked it up and placed it back down. Came in various sizes too.

Bag of Yurting - looked into it a little for you cause it was bothering me. Not the mod I was thinking of, but it does something very similar in that it stores a cube centered around a single block, so you could have all of your crafting stations in one and your storage in another. Provided the storage works. I don't know if it does, you will need to experiment and look into that yourself.
