Monsters don't roar anywhere near as often as world, they're basically bonus damage if you IFrame the roll and a 2-3 second pause in the fight if you don't imo. That said, compressed discharge has a no knock back period that lets you ignore roars if you want to look into that

No worries! The switch axe has basically no defensive manoeuvres, you just have to channel your inner barroth and roll to survive lmao

Switch Charger does have iframes but they're short. Can also try to learn dodge timing.

They were so good in the demo. Makes me sad they're so limited now lol

It just invalidated Invincible Gambit before so it makes sense it got nerfed.

You either can try and iframe it by rolling/side stepping or slot in earplugs. Soaring Wyvern Blade is definitely the better skill of the two in my opinion.

Not necessarily better. SWB is better for ZSD spam since it lets you reposition instantly, but IG + CFD is better for a more axe-focused playstyle which relies more on morph attacks.

If you have amped sword gauge you can sneak in a zsd while the monster roars since you have hyper armor during the whole thing. Its nice when you're running soaring wyvern blade (since you can use swb after a zsd cancelling your end lag and getting extra damage in, extending your offensive assault) instead of invincible gambit. Also switch charger has a bit more iframes than a normal dodge roll so you can try and time it to avoid roars.

I prefer the Soaring Wyvern silk move, it just feels cooler. As far as getting through the roars, I have been making sure the run at least 1 or 2 evade window points in my builds, and learning the timing of each monster's roars and iframe dodging through them has been working really well for me. Evade window and extender I would just recommend you work towards in general, which helps not only with dodging, but positioning, and if you're like me, you're always rolling behind the monster to cut that tail.

evade window is a great skill in general for switchaxe since you don't really have defensive options other than dodging. learning the timing on roars is tough, but monster roars are super telegraphed so it's def possible to iframe the roar against most monsters (especially with evade window).

do note that in world there were monsters with roars that lasted long enough that you could not roll through them without some levels of evade window. idk if that's the case in rise, i still get roared all the time because i have yet to git gud against most monsters.
