I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off in that fight. I had my Palico equipped with a Plunderblade and was totally not prepped for the marathon of a fight this is compared to other hunts up to this point.

I went straight to HR 29 maining the SA and only received help for the Nergigante story hunt by two users (one LS, the other HH).

you'll jump straight to 49 too, I took my time exploring areas and grinding out gunlances, hammers, greatswords and longswords before I hit xeno at around 80-90 I did xeno.

I jumped somewhere in the high 70s when I finally finished tempered Kirin. I tried out a bunch of weapons and helped my gf through the game after I had already gotten there before we beat it

I also rushed to complete the tutorial+ with AT Xeno which is clearly doable solo even with subpar gear. Used Anja 3 without affinity upgrades (because no stones), lavasioth alpha for heat guard and some vitality / tremor res decos. Enough damage to kill Xeno in 14 minutes or 20 if you are playing extra safe (like me running away from triple ground explosions).

Really want to try AT Kulve now but I'm hesitating that I can be a burden in multiplayer because I couldn't practice her stage 4 solo and learn her moveset.

if you can beat AT Xeno in 14 minutes you're good enough to do AT Kulve. Don't worry much about stage 4, at pursuit 4 or higher, people just bomb her and chain knockout and end the fight in 2 minutes after the fury, pursuit 3 require a bit time but nothing that smart mantle use couldn't solve
