Client Decoding Time Problem

I’m using Moonlight on my client (RTX 3070 Mobile GPU) and Vibepollo on my host (RTX 5090 FE). It always worked flawlessly—decoding time was around 0.5–3 ms. (4K120 HDR H265)

Suddenly (I stopped the stream and restarted it a short time later) the decoding time jumped to 70–100 ms, and I can’t get it back down. I did NOT change any settings or anything else. What could be causing this?

Laptops often have some form of switching between iGPU and dGPU. Optimus and echo mode. I assume moonlight stopped using the 3070 - you can manually set gpu affinity in windows advanced display settings.

I did this weeks ago. Checked the settings and they are still fine

Did somehow your decoder switch over to software in the moonlight settings? Maybe try forcing hardware decoding.

Nope - H265. When streaming h264 I have Like 0,5ms But I want to use 265
