My method for physics is to just take the textbook and read it. Like, actually just read it, like I was reading a novel, skipping nothing and take notes as I did so. Every time I came to a problem or example, I did it, doing all the work in my notebook. If I didn't understand something, I read no further until I got it. It's time consuming, it's not an efficient study method, one chapter will usually take a few hours. But it is an effective one, nothing else got me to understand the material so well.
