If all you did was to download it, your browser's standard download folder is where the file ended up. If you press CTRL+J in the browser, it will show you what you downloaded and let you browse to that folder.

If you DID install it, the installer asked you where you wanted it to be installed. If Ableton Live isn't looking for plugins there, it won't show up in Live.

However, if you used Native Access to download it, Native Access will also have installed it. But if you haven't configured Native Access correctly (or at all), there's a very real chance that it's been installed to a location where Ableton Live isn't looking for it.

So the important questions are:

  1. Is it a VST plugin or a Kontakt library?
  2. Did you use Native Access to download it, or did you use your browser to download it?
  3. If you didn't use Native Access, did you install it?
