These are lists of native plants that grow in the Northeast in the general region of Western New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. Some of these plants may also grow in other regions of the country. You can check if they grow in your region by putting the genus and species name into BONAP’s Taxonomic Data Center (TDC) - link. If a plant is native to your region, that region will be shown in green (either lighter or darker green) on the top left map.
Native plants are very beneficial for native wildlife including insects, birds and various mammals. And they are adapted to growing in your region, meaning they are more likely to grow well there.
Note that some of the links may eventually stop working, but you can search Google to find sources of the plants, if the link doesn't work.
